Privacy policy

The short version: FastSankey has no user accounts, sets no cookies, uses no third-party analytics, and your diagrams stay on your own device. The only thing we measure is how often the export and save buttons are pressed – as plain counters that cannot be traced back to anyone.

2. Your diagram data

The FastSankey editor runs entirely in your web browser. Diagrams you create are held in your browser's memory and saved – at your request – as JSON files on your own device. They are not transmitted to us and we have no access to them.

3. PDF export

When you use the PDF export, the rendered image of your diagram (a PNG file) is sent to our server, converted into a PDF and returned to your browser in the same request. The image and the PDF are processed in memory only; they are not stored on the server and are not shared with third parties. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (provision of the requested function).

4. Server log files

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically records technical access data (IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser type). This data is required to deliver the website reliably and securely, is not merged with other data sources and is deleted according to the provider's log rotation. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website). Hosting provider: STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

5. Anonymous usage counter

To find out which export formats are actually used, the editor counts how often the buttons PNG, SVG, PDF, Save and Open are pressed. Each click increases a single number per action and calendar day on our server. We store no IP address, no cookie, no device or browser identifier and no session – the counters are pure sums and cannot be linked to a person, a device or a diagram. Since no personal data is processed, this is statistical measurement rather than tracking; the underlying interest is the improvement of the tool (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, should the data be considered personal at all).

6. Cookies, third-party content

This website sets no cookies for visitors and uses no local storage, no third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) and no advertising. All fonts, scripts and images are served from this domain; nothing is loaded from external servers. The only cookie that exists at all is a session cookie on the operator's internal, password-protected statistics page – it is strictly necessary for that login and is never set when you use the editor or any public page.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we store no personal data beyond the technical server logs described above, such requests will usually be answered trivially – please contact us at hello@picsorta.com.
